Wide Awake

I saw you there in your black dress, and hoped before we spoke I’d catch my breath
the wind was all around...
I know that its an old line, but when you brushed your hair back from your eyes,
it felt like I was crying. oh, what you do to me.

I’m wide awake and still your in my dreams.
You’re by my side inside my reverie.
I say my prayers, and try to sleep.

The road was bending and the sky was blue, and you ran your hand across my tattoo.
I couldn’t even say my name... You’ve been running in my veins again.
somehow my fantasy and my best friend.
Lord be my guide. oh, what you do to me.

I wish I knew what God is doing here. the light I thought I saw is not so clear.
so day to day I carry on...
